Face-mounting techniques for graphs and digital images
Face mounting techniques have been used in advertising, for backlit display, and light boxes worldwide for years. The process is fast becoming one of the most popular methods for exhibiting wide format and display photographs commercially, in galleries, homes and major museums.
An increasingly popular mounting methods is face-mounting the image to acrylic, glass or transparent substrates. Through the process of face-mounting the substrate becomes both the protective glazing and the support for the photographic and digital images.
Face mounting techniques is a trend preferred by many contemporary digital and photographic artists to present their images in a frameless manner. It provides the desire of frameless but quality aesthetic appearance to meet the presentation requirements. In short, face mounting films join two surfaces together through the creation of a smooth bond. These graphics require the use of an optically clear mounting adhesive.

Mounting digital prints to Window Glass
Step 1: Choosing the most suitable Optically Clear Mounting Film.MD-PET face mount is a double sided optical clear polyester (PET ) adhesive film. 1.5 mil (38μ) Optically Clear PET carrier sandwiched between two layers of permanent solvent adhesive protected on each side by a clear polyester release liner. A clear polyester film giving smoothness to the adhesive layer and featuring very high strength and toughness. The finest components deliver the optical clarity. It provides the excellent UV stability to graphic prints.
Step 3: Applying Facemount to imagesSimply adhere printed images to one of the sides with the permanent optically clear mounting adhesive and apply the other solvent acrylic adhesive side to a clean mounting surface.
Step 4: Adhering the second surface mounting to glassAdhere the second surface mounting (commonly referred to as face mounting) of images to clear window glass substrates. Adding a laminating film to the back of the graphic can also offer added rigidity to assist during installation and help protect and enhance the inside viewing surface.
